Opera starting in the Ottoman Era in 1840s is alive today thanks to the guidance of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the Republican Era. Although it is tried to be regarded as an unimportant and unnecessary art, it has existed for many years and it will exist with its democratic and contemporary quality. In this sense, all the things that need to be done about opera have been expected to be done by the government and a limited enterprise has been undertaken. Doğuş University established Doğuş University Orchestra and Chorus with the aim of contributing to our country, the opera and its students.

The purpose of this orchestra and chorus is to perform pieces of opera, musical and classical music and to train musicians consisting of our students for both orchestra and chorus. Our primary objective is to train successful engineer, korist, economist pianists and manager violinists. I would like to express my gratitude to the honorable Chair of the Board of Trustees Doğu Gözaçan who greatly contributed to the development of this project and who has always been a supporter of art and artists. I would also like to express my gratitude to our Rector, all Vice Rectors and Advisors to the Rector, and all the members of Treasure of Voices (Sesler Hazinesi) musical group, as well as three very dear young students of Doğuş University, Elif Berşe Çetin, Coşkun Irmak and Selin Ece Bozkurt.
