| The University Not Alienating Itself from Society, Conscious of Its Responsibility |

Doğuş University, considering service to the society and social sensitivities as a must, supports everyone that is in need through its projects carried out by the Office of Social Sensitivities Projects, by the faculty and by the student clubs. From education of the children between 0-6 forced to stay in prison with their mothers by the Doğuş University’s faculty to vocational courses to the women who are victims of violence, from psychological support to the victims of earthquake to offering art courses to the retired, projects are conducted for different social and age groups.
"Introduction of Non-Governmental Organizations Days", traditionalized and organized six times so far, is an exemplary project. A couple of days before each new year, Doğuş University campus hosts non-governmental organizations involved in such areas as education, health, environment, women’s and animal rights. In this two-day traditional activity, these organizations find the opportunity to promote themselves as well as receiving contribution to their income necessary to carry on their activities. The students and employees of Doğuş University, as well as the residents of Istanbul visiting the activity buy New Year gifts for their loved ones from the products exhibited by these organizations, thus provide them with financial support.
With the coordination of the Office of Social Sensitivities Projects, projects in four basic groups are carried out by the cooperation of Doğuş University students, faculty and administrative staff. In 2011-2012 academic year, a total of 30 projects were successfully completed under main groups of "Women, Children, Environment and The Elderly". |
