Doğuş University Industry Meeting at Dudullu Organized Industrial Zone
A comprehensive consultation and cooperation meeting was held last night with the participation of regional industrialists, public administrators, and academic representatives, hosted by the Dudullu Organized Industrial Zone Administration. Representing Doğuş University, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Alkan ÇELİK and our Director of the Business and Innovation Center Dr. Turhan KARAKAYA participated in the meeting.
The program was honored by the presence of Istanbul Governor Mr. Davut GÜL, Ümraniye Mayor Mr. İsmet YILDIRIM, Ümraniye District Governor Mr. Yüksel ÇELİK, the region’s leading public administrators, and numerous industrialists. At the opening of the meeting, Chairman of the Dudullu OIZ Board of Directors B. Murat ÖNA and board members made important assessments regarding the current state of industry, regional needs, and potential areas of collaboration with Doğuş University.
In his speech, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Alkan ÇELİK drew attention to the strategic position of our university and stated: “As a university located at the heart of the industrial zone, we contribute a dynamic, well-equipped, and innovative human resource with our more than 15,000 students. With projects developed jointly with the sector, our long-term work programs, and our curriculum shaped in line with industry needs, we implement one of Turkey's strongest university-industry cooperation models."
At the meeting, Istanbul Governor Davut GÜL and Ümraniye Mayor İsmet YILDIRIM also shared their evaluations on the development of the region, new investments, and the future of industry. Important messages were delivered on strengthening public–university–private sector cooperation, enhancing youth employment, and supporting the innovation ecosystem.
As Doğuş University, we aim to further deepen our cooperation with regional industrialists in order to train the qualified workforce needed by the industry, strengthen research and development activities, and provide high added value to the production ecosystem. Our university will continue its efforts with determination to establish one of the strongest examples of the public-private-academic partnership model in Turkey.
