Doğuş University Turkish Language and Revolution History Unit is obliged to give Turkish Critical Reading and Writing and Atatürk's Principles and History of the Formation of Modern Turkey courses as compulsory ones, to all departments and college
programs. This task is carried out in collaboration between faculties and vocational school.
Turkish Critical Reading and Writing course aims to develop university students’ ability to use Turkish properly and to comprehend the structure and functional characteristics of the language. Besides, its other purpose is to educate young people
who will be able to comprehend critical, inquisitive, analytical and creative thoughts by reading distinguished works in Turkish and World literature.
Atatürk's Principles and History of the Formation of Modern Turkey course is committed to educate its students in line with Atatürk’s thought system, analytical reasoning and science. This is all with the reason for students to become
contemporary intellectuals who can produce solutions with sensitivity to the problems of the country and the world. Moreover, these students will acquire proper knowledge of their duties and responsibilities towards the Republic of Turkey and will
demonstrate these in their actions.
